{Tasty} Tuesday

When someone or something has the status of "perfection" then there is no need to tweak, recreate or even adjust.  This is how I feel about The Pioneer Woman's Chocolate Sheet Cake.  To quote my friend (I like to think we would be friends), "Please make this cake today.  I don't want you live another day without it."
She has shared her recipe here & trust me; it is truly perfection.

It is 18x12-inches of pure decadence!  Try to pace yourself & be sure to enjoy it with a tall glass of cold milk!

Enjoy!

When I Think

When I think about the Lord
How He saved me, How He raised me
How He filled me with the Holy Ghost
How He healed me to the uttermost
When I think about the Lord
How He picked me up, turned me around
How He set my feet on solid ground

It makes me want to SHOUT
Hallelujah!  Thank you Jesus!
Lord, your worthy
of all the glory, and all the honor
And all the praise!

Shane Barnard Lyrics

This was the first song that I heard last night after listening to a sweet sister in Christ tell her testimony.  A testimony of God's work in her life that took her from a deep, dark, ugly place to one of redemption, hope & praise to the ONE who saved her.
I was brought to tears as she shared & then brought to tears once again on my drive home.  I don't have a dynamic testimony.  I was raised in a Christian home, committed my life to Christ at the age of six & because of my Type A/OCD personality always been a rule follower...however...God sees us either for Him or against Him.  No matter what our past is, all of our "sin" is viewed the same to God.
The truth is that when we are apart from Christ we are all in a deep, dark, ugly place.  Jesus is the only way to bring us out of that place.  Us placing our trust, faith & hope in Him is redemption.  I do have a dynamic testimony because I was not in fellowship with the One true God who can give me eternal life.  Every conversion story is a miracle!

{Tasty} Tuesday

This post almost got written last night but a trip to the gym, late dinner & bathtime made me too tired.  I was going to title it, "My Garden Monday" or maybe "Marvelous Monday" either way it was going to be great.
We had our first harvest last night.

Three of the juiciest, sweetest, cute lil' strawberries.  It was supposed to be just two but when Lily is left alone with pruning shears she takes matters into her own hands.  Literally.
We divided our bounty between the four of us & enjoyed the fruit of our labor.
It may be the memory of the 800lbs of dirt that was brought in the Saturday we built or garden, or the countless trips to the empty lot next to us where I hucked the sod over the fence...either way they were some of the best tasting strawberries I had ever tasted.
We might just have green thumbs afterall!

Easter Snapshots

I've been thinking all week that I should just rename my blog to Snapshots of the South.
I just can't seem to stay caught up.
Oh well, I can't let my life revolve around this blog.
It does revolve around my family & that is just fine by me.

Easter 2012

Hope everyone has a great weekend!
