Favorite Thing Friday!

I have two favorite things this week.  One is romantic & the other is just practical...but they both made my list.

I declare my love for Bferg about every other blog post.  But seriously, I just love this man with all my heart & when he walked through the door Tuesday night with my all time favorite (even used in my wedding) flowers; I swooned even more.  Thank you Bferg for brightening my day & week!

Next is my new favorite nail polish.  I have fallen for the fall colors & my new favorites are this grey (smoke screen) & very dark purple (femme fatale).  The Ulta Brand is proving to be great for its longevity & it is much cheaper than other brands.  (Don't forget the base coat!)
Happy Fall & Happy Weekend!

Go Bolts!

Soccer started bright & early Saturday morning!
3 on 3, no referees, no goalies, coaches on the field, no keeping score.  It is a swarm of kids around one little soccer ball.  It is hilarious & a lot of fun to watch.

But first, we stretch.
Adorable!
And warm-up.
Out of focus bc she is so fast...or bc Lily was on my lap.
A little nervous about the game.

Yelling Cheering ensues by the parents.

The green team made the first goal...good thing we weren't keeping score!
She is #3.  :) Ha!
Insert MAJOR meltdown here.  I didn't take a picture of the drama :) but we had some tears because of being tired, not eating a great breakfast, not wanting to rotate out of the game, not wanting to go back in the game...it was not our finest moment.  We force fed a granola bar & luckily she finished well.
So proud of her!
Her Daddy would probably quit reading my blog if I didn't mention that after said 'meltdown' she went out and scored two goals!  The end of the game score (had we been keeping track) was 4-4 not bad for the first game!  Yay Aubrie & Yay Bolts!

~Tasty Tuesday~

Panzanella.  The classic Italian bread salad.  Wait?  A salad that is a carbohydrate?!?!?  Sign.me.up!

Panzanella
6 Cups day old Italian Bread, cut or torn in bite size pieces
1/3 Cup Olive Oil
3 Cloves Garlic, minced
Salt & Pepper to taste

Toss together olive oil, garlic, s/p & bread.  Spread out on a baking sheet & toast 5-10 minutes in a 400* oven.  (Set aside & allow to cool slightly.)

1/4 Cup Olive Oil
2 Tbs Balsamic Vinegar

Whisk together.

4 Medium Tomatoes, cut in wedges
3/4 Cup Red Onion, sliced
10 Basil leaves, torn
1/2 Cup Green Olives, halved
1 Cup Fresh Mozzarella, cut into bite sized pieces

Toss the toasted bread together with the tomatoes, onion, basil, olives and cheese.  Dress the salad with the balsamic vinaigrette & allow 20 minutes before serving.

This is bruschetta in a bowl.  It is all the classic Italian flavors in one place.  The saltiness from the olives is the perfect balance to the creamy mozzarella.  Yum!  Yum!  Yum!!

Enjoy!

Don't Cry...Craft!

Saturday morning was supposed to be Aubrie's big soccer debut but the rain came along with some thunder/lightening & thus came the "field's are closed, games are canceled" text message.  To say that Aubrie was disappointed was an understatement.  She was devastated & we only got her to stop crying by letting her wear her soccer shirt for the day.  (Poor thing...she had been counting down the days until her first game.  We really did feel bad for her.)
Insert Craft Time!  I have been actually using my "pins" from Pinterest & had been wanting to give another one a go.  I showed Bferg...he not only loved the idea but insisted we get started by heading to Hobby Lobby!  :)  I love that man!

This was a $40 project & I am in LOVE with it.
$25 Open Frame (half off at H.L.)
$10 Knobs (the selection is endless & also half off at H.L.)
$5 Pictures
I already had the clothes pins & twine from other projects but they would only add about $5 to the project.

I actually printed about 30 pictures for this project.  From all stages of life, all seasons & all candids.  I will change the pictures out with the seasons & update them as the girls age.
I love it when a good rainy day can be productive also!

P.S.  Look for Aubrie's first game post next Monday!  :)  (Because I know you are dying to read about it! :)

Back to School

Do you hear that?  :)  Me either.  It is totally quiet at my house right now.
Ahhh...Thursday.  My oasis of the week.

Aubrie's *First* Day on Monday.
Lily's *First* Day of School.
This is not a pose.  It is just what they do!  Besties!

I love these girls!

We had a 30* temperature difference between Monday & today so I had to dig to find long sleeves this morning.  Glad I did because I LOVE their outfits this morning...seriously, I could just eat them up.  So.sweet!

Holding On To Summer

I am beyond blessed that our girls, who are only 19 months apart, are best friends & love to play together.  Best.friends.  Saturday, as Bferg & I fought to find a sense of organization in the area of life called the garage, our girls got this idea....

Lily was the boat driver & Aubrie was the wakeboarder.  Aubrie would yell, "Hit it!" & Lily would take off pedaling with gusto.  It was hilarious & it kept them entertained for a long time.  The Ferguson family just can't let go of summer!

Woo Pig & Weeeee!

We got an extra day added to the weekend & it was all jam packed with fun!  Saturday was the first Razorback game.  We decked ourselves in our U of A shwag, headed to Uncle Justin/Aunt Lindsey's house where they threw down the food & we ate ourselves full!

Monday we went with our friends to Silver Dollar City.  The weather was amazing, the company was great & the kids had a blast!
The 2 Princesses & the Frog!

I promise that we are riding this with the girls.  It is not just Bferg & me enjoying a roller coaster!

Peter, Lily, Aubrie & Gabby.

Sweet Peter cashed out...but still holding his frozen lemonade.

Michael & Gabby are about to get wet!

Our family!
I have to keep reminding myself that today is Wednesday...that extra day off has me thoroughly confused.  Hope you all had a fun, relaxing weekend as well!
