Our Week

This time last week we were gearing up for Operation Drop-Off.  As in we dropped off the girls with Grammy & Papa for a weekend by ourselves!  Woo-hoo!!!!!

We tried to contain our excitement but the truth was we needed the break!  I love my girls to pieces but one on one uninterrupted time with Bferg is something that is special & doesn't happen often enough in our busy world.
We spent Saturday afternoon with Bferg's family at his cousin's wedding.  It was a beautiful ceremony full of love.  It was fun to see all of his cousins & family.

Saturday night we celebrated our anniversary & the anniversary of Justin & Lindsey at an amazing Italian restaurant in Springfield, MO.

Sunday was spent on the lake, making burgers & homemade icecream.  After a few errands we decided to take a walk to the dirt road where Bferg runs that was loaded with blackberries.  We picked until it was dark & came home with quite the bounty.

Bferg had to leave town Monday morning for business which meant I had Monday & all day Tuesday to myself.  It was really weird to have the house so quiet & I hardly knew what to do with myself.  (But, don't worry.  I soon found shopping, pool time & girl talk at the coffee shop to fill my time.)
I was excited to welcome back my two sweet girls who had the time of their lives at G & P's.  Refreshed & refueled we jumped back into summer as a family.

We are excited to celebrate the 4th of July starting this weekend!

Daddy's Little Girls

You're the end of the rainbow, my pot of gold,

You're daddy's little girl to have and to hold.

A precious gem is what you are,

You're mom-my's bright and shi-ning star.

You're the spirit of Christmas, my star on the tree,

You're the Easter Bunny to mommy and me;

You're sugar, you're spice, you're ev'-ry-thing nice,

And you're daddy's little girl.

Bferg is an amazing Dad!  I say it often but today with deep purpose.  It is often said that any man can be a father but it takes more to be a Daddy.  Bferg understands this & does a wonderful job taking on different attributes to father our girls.  He knows that with Aubrie he needs to be athletic, adventurous, direct but sensitive. Lily requires him to be playful, silly, sensitive but firm.  Both girls know they hold a piece of their Daddy's heart & know that he tends to be the "softie" of the family. (And I wouldn't have it any other way.)  He fathers with a purpose & desires to see his girls know & serve our Lord.  He leads & guides our family with great patience & integrity.

We love you Bferg/Daddy!
Happy Father's Day!

A Word to My Girls

Watch how he walks
& follow close to him.

Hold on tight to his protection
& find comfort in his embrace.

While he isn't perfect, he has deep integrity.
He is loyal, slow to speak & looks for ways to serve others.
He will love unconditionally & point you to the One who loves us perfectly.

"The father of one who is right with God will have much joy.
He who has a wise son will be glad in him."
Proverbs 23:24 (NLV)

I am beyond blessed by my Dad & I am so thankful that he is such a part of my girls' lives as well!
Happy Father's Day, Daddy!
I love you so very much!

Wedding Weekend!

We spent most of all last week celebrating Paul & Lauren.  My little brother, Paul, married Lauren, the absolute love of his life.  They had an amazing, sweet wedding celebrating their love of God & each other.  We had so much fun & were completely exhausted...always a true sign of a great time.

Aunt Lauren & all the cousins.

Practicing....

The cute couple.

Big sister & Little brother.

3 sweet princesses.

Aubrie making sure Lucas looks just perfect.

The love of my life.

Aubrie stealing a kiss from Uncle Paul before the wedding.

Stunning.

Time to party!

Dancing with Aunt Lauren!

Congrats Mr & Mrs Spradley!
I am so happy for them both.  Lauren is a perfect fit for Paul & we welcome her "arms wide open" into our family!
And now for all the unpacking that needs to happen from the week.

"Four!!!"

We were so depressed when the weekend ended on Monday night that we kept the party going by taking the girls to play Putt-Putt on Tuesday night.  Bferg has recently gotten more into golf & if Bferg is "into something" then chances are Aubrie is too.

We had to remind her over & over again
that this was NOT the swing she wanted to have
for putt-putt.  Luckily, she missed!  :)

Not so lucky on this hole.  Floating balls & nets provided...genius!

This one just wanted to look cute, played by her own rules
& insisted on doing it by HERself!
(I don't know who she got that strong willed streak from!?!?!)

When she finally made it in the cup she did this little number
 & said, "Girl Power!"
It was hilarious...love her little spirit!

Bferg in the sand trap but still super cute!

We have decided to make a little summer "bucket list" for our family activities.  The box is officially checked for Putt-Putt!

Happy Weekend!
