Fall Soccer

It's back....
Fall soccer started back last week & Aubrie could not have been more excited!  She absolutely loves it.  We moved up in age brackets so she now has games on Saturday mornings & Monday nights.
She isn't the biggest or the fastest on her team this year but she is by far the best team player.  She cheers for every goal.  Congratulates every team-mate & even thanks girls for a great passes that she could score on.
And because it is my blog I get to brag that she continues to score a goal every game.  :)

We asked Lily if she wanted to play & her exact reply was, "No thanks, I want to do dance."
So after three weeks of dance she spends her time on the soccer sidelines practicing her twirls, head stands & balancing on Aubrie's ball.
 Whatever keeps her happy!!!!

Whether its soccer cleats or ballet shoes I'm one proud Mommy!  Love my girls & I love that they enjoy being active, making new friends & trying new things.

Life According To My iPhone

1. My new favorite coffee from The Fresh Market.
I like to call it "Fall in a Cup."
2. Bferg was gone 4 days last week for work so the girls made him a welcome home cake.
Lily insisted that the cake have candles.
3. Her face was priceless when she told him he could open his eyes!
4. Matching Toms for the Razorback game!
We continue to NOT discuss the games.
5 & 6. The girls and their fish.
The Denver Broncos were stressing out Bferg so we went fishing.
We continue to NOT discuss the Broncos also.
7. A pretty fall sunset over the pond.

{Tasty} Tuesday

September marks the 4th anniversary of us moving to AR.  I cannot believe that it has already been 4 years...time has flown!  I am so thankful that God allowed us to move here.  I have never once regretted moving our family.
I'm pretty sure that I got my official "transplant" card when I added grits to our family menu last week.
Turns out I love grits!  Especially good grits.  I recently had grits from a local restaurant that were jalapeno & cheddar.  The were good, not great & I knew I could improve.
Insert Cream Cheese.

Jalapeno Popper Grits

Quick cooking Grits.

Cream Cheese, fresh chopped jalapeno & sharp cheddar cheese.

Dinner in 10 minutes flat!
The grits were so yummy!  Spicy, creamy lick your plate good.

Enjoy!

We (Still) Love Our Hogs!

While you won't find anyone talking about this past Saturday's Razorback game.  (You know...the one where our QB got hurt just before the half, I could have scored on our defense & we gave up a 21 point lead in the second half.  And we woke up Sunday to find our #8 ranked team not even ranked...yeah, that one.)
You will still find everyone wearing their gear, keeping their flags, wreaths & car decals intact.  And eating their PopTarts.  Yes, I said PopTarts.

Sneaky WalMart...putting these "Special Edition" cost a dollar more PopTarts on an end cap, where two hog loving girls could each grab a box & put them in the cart before I could even bat an eye.  But truth be told I wouldn't have said "No" to them...it was my way of showing that no matter how ugly it gets (and this weekend could be very ugly) we will still "Call Our Hogs" but probably not in a bowl game.

Back to School

The week we've been waiting for has finally arrived!  Both girls started back to Pre-K yesterday.  They were both super excited!  They both have amazing teachers & we are looking forward to a great year!

Aubrie.  Last year before Kindergarten.

Lily.  Yes, that is a tattoo.  (Choose your battles.)

Sisters!

A few silly faces to start the morning.

Lily's attempt at being silly.  :)

They both look so grown up in these pictures!
Where have my little toddlers gone?!?!?

Accomplishments

I love writing lists.  I look for reasons to write them.  I write a weekly grocery list.  I even write one for the three things that I typically need from Target each week.  I write one every time we go on a trip...even just a two night stay at my parent's house.  I wrote one at the beginning of summer detailing things that we wanted to try to accomplish in the 12 weeks of summer.

While I love writing lists I really love checking off my lists.  Truth be told, my motivation behind most lists is the feeling of accomplishing something.  Whether its a full cart of groceries or an uber organized, packed according to each day suitcase my list was the ground work for that accomplishment.  While accomplishments & organization are not bad they can sometimes without thinking lay all of their glory on ME.  Self.  I did it.

"The accomplishment of the day isn't so much about accomplishing goals but abiding in God."
Ann Voskamp

Wow!  Pretty sure Almost positive that I've never written that list.  But at my core it is what I want.  What I desire.  What I need to start & finish my day.  Abiding in the life sustaining grace of God.

"Abide in Me, and I in you.  As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me.  I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing."
John 15:4-5

What am I trying to accomplish today?

BIG Weekend

It was a BIG weekend here in NWA.
Not only was is a long weekend & the first Razorback football game but our Cabela's opened.
BIG news for our small town.
I'm not sure who was more excited...Bferg or my girls but either way we made an Opening Day appearance & then may or may not have gone back on Saturday morning.

Family Fun & Celebrites...who can say No to that!

Shekinah Glory!

Checking out the fish tanks.

Photo courtesy of Aubrie...she spotted this guy & had to get a closer look.

"Mom, take my picture by this thing!"

Two turkeys  Lily & the turkey.

Sparkle Shoes & a Pop Gun.

Just a warning to "Sucker Parents" (aka Me): Pop Guns are a great idea inside a Cabela's.  However, once they are in your car it will take exactly 2.5 minutes before someone gets shot in the eye & they will drive you up the wall  within 3.5 seconds of being inside your house.  But at $9.99 they are a steal...get 'em while you can.  Or call me.  I have 2 for sale & I'll give you a great deal!

One last pic of my little Razorback Cuties.

Hope you all had a great long weekend!  Bring on FALL!!!  I'm ready for jeans, boots, pumpkin lattes & cooler temperatures!
