Summer Blessings

"By the word of the Lord the heavens were made,
And by the breadth of His mouth all their host.
He gathers the waters of the sea together as a heap;
He lays up the deep in storehouses.
Let all the earth fear the Lord;
Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him."
Psalm 33:6-8

Enjoying God's creation with the biggest blessings of my life.

Take Me Out To The Ballgame

We took my Mom (and Dad) to a STL Cardinals game for Mother's Day.  It was my first time in the new stadium & my girls first time ever to a professional game.  We made it all the way until the top of the 9th which was 4 more innings we were hoping to get out of them.  Lily fell asleep & Aubrie was asking to go to sleep (a.k.a. leave) so we packed it up early but kept the memories!

Grammy & her little girls.

The Arch in the background is perfect because that was where our first date was 11 years ago!

My precious girls who made me a Mommy.

I love this picture!

STL, looking good!

In awe....

Aubrie & Grammy.

Lily....  No words necessary!

Just when Bferg & I thought we had the "best Mother's day present ever" award all wrapped up my older brother & his wife went into labor.  Little Colton was born ON Sunday!  He stole the show & our hearts!

The girls were excited to see their newest cousin and very sad to leave.  We had a great weekend in MO!

{Tasty} Tuesday

Look closely & you will see fruit.  Sweet & delectable.  It is another reminder as to my love for summer cooking.  This is the easiest "fruit salad" recipe I have ever made & it's sweet, candy like flavor is enough to make you beg for more.

Here are the TWO things you need to make this sugary goodness.
A small can of Sweetened Condensed Milk & a tub of Cool Whip.
Mix together & mix in your favorite fruit.

Warning: Not only does this make a lot (think family get together or church pot-luck "a lot") but you will want to grab a straw & drink it before adding the fruit.  I have found that I add just enough to generously coat the amount of fruit I have prepared & then refrigerate the remaining for another meal.

Oh...and if you add some chopped pecans to your fruit...well, the results are simply heavenly.

Enjoy!

4 Kids + 1 Gate

A few weeks ago we headed out to the lake with The Siebert's for a cookout & some fishing.  It was really hot & super humid out.  The kids/dads were fishing in the afternoon sun & were sweating more than fishing so the kids found the next best entertainment.  A gate.  Ahhh...the simplicity of being a kid.

We had a fun night at the lake with our good friends & look forward to more time out there now that summer is officially here!

An Afternoon With Cinderella

Cinderella, the cow.  Not Cinderella the princess.

We recently spent an afternoon at Farmer John & Miss Tammy's farm.  (My sis-in-law's parents.)  They had a mommy cow who lost her baby & a baby cow who lost his mommy.  Through the magic of hairspray & farmer knowledge they were able to bond the two so that the mom did indeed take the baby as her own.
Miss Tammy gave my girls the very important job of naming the calf.  Lindsey & I were suggesting names relating to black or things that were dark.  Smokey, Blackie, Midnight...they were all shot down by the girls.  Aubrie, after being deep in thought, proclaimed, "Haystack."  And the name stuck!  It was perfect & pretty creative if you ask me.  Lily decided that the perfect name for the Mom was Cinderella & I think the cow thought that was a compliment.  Who wouldn't want to be named after a skinny blonde princess just 2 weeks after giving birth!

Haystack, the calf, was so cute peeking out from under his super protective Mom.

I have a slight obsession with baby cows.  I openly admit to it...seriously, isn't he just the cutest!?!?!  Maybe one day we can have our own farm but until then we will feed our my obsession with a visit to the Sarratt's Farm.
